COLUMBIA - A memorial service for Maj. Robert Forrest Cooper (U.S. Army Ret.), 65, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 15, 2017 at Spring Valley Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Dunbar Funeral Home, Northeast Chapel, is in charge.



Mr. Cooper died Saturday, September 9, 2017. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on February 12, 1952, he was a son of the late Calvin Ray Cooper and Jean Marie Lyons Cooper.

Mr. Cooper died Saturday, September 9, 2017. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on February 12, 1952, he was a son of the late Calvin Ray Cooper and Jean Marie Lyons Cooper.



Robert was a graduate of Claremore Military Academy High School and Junior College, and a graduate of Northeastern Oklahoma University. He served in the United States Army and retired with the rank of Major, and later retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a member of Spring Valley Baptist Church, as well as the Church’s Prayer Warrior Sunday School Class.



Robert was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved traveling and woodworking.



Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Ramona Cooper; daughter, Janet Grenier (Jeremiah) of Lexington; grandson, Robert Grenier of Lexington; sister, Sharon Weaver of Tulsa, OK; and brother, William Cooper (Debbie) of Claremore, OK.
